MSRT is a non-profit organization providing quality ski training and race experience to young skiers. Our coaching facilitates racer development from beginner to elite alpine levels. We strive to promote an environment of healthy competition, character development, sportsmanship, and fun to all club skiers. We believe that parent support and participation is essential to these goals.

Our coaching philosophy is to facilitate each athletes' development to her/his full potential by offering an appropriate blend of guided free-skiing, skill enhancement, technical improvement, and race course tactics in an atmosphere of fun and encouragement. Our goal is to mold outstanding citizens and expert, versatile skiers first, recognizing that, with further nurturing, many will become outstanding racers. Implementation of this philosophy varies with age and ability; younger athletes will spend more time on fun and ski development, whereas older athletes will increasingly focus on mental/physical preparation and course tactics.

10-05-09 Thank you to all of those who were able to make our first weekend of conditioning. It was exciting for the coaches to work with the athletes again. It is what we love to do. We even had a little snow on the ground at Sunday's workout.

6-02-09 IMD AWARDS:
Nick Bailey was the recipient of the IMD Scholar of the Year Award. This award is given to the IMD athletes who shows success in both athletics and academics. The IMD Awards Committee stated "It was Nick's willingness to help others both on the hill and in the classroom that made him stand out above the other applicants."
Paul Warner was crowned the IMD Downhill Champion for the 2008-2009 season. This is a huge accomplishment for Paul.
Both Nick and Paul will be leaving our program to further pursue their ski racing dreams. Nick will be attending Burke Mountain Academy and Paul will be skiing with the Park City Ski Team. I would like to personally thank them both for their hard work, dedication, and most importantly their selfless attitude. The coaching staff wishes them all the best.

I believe if we can focus on the following items our team will continue to see success in the 2009-2010 season.

MSRT Team Deposit for 2009-2010:

Space in unlimited at the J1-J3 level. However, we would like to know what J1-J3 athletes will be returning next year.
In order to meet keep these numbers we are asking all returning MSRT athletes place a $100.00 deposit to reserve their spot for the 2009-2010 season. This will allow MSRT to staff, budget, and purchase necessary equipment for each program. This will also allow new members to join our team.

5-1-09 The 2008-2009 season has come to an end. What a great year. Once again we have fantastic results in every age group. We also hosted great races. The entire Western Region was affected by difficult weather all season. The Western Region Junior Championships, US Nationals, IMD Championships, and the Junior Olympics all had weather challenges. Thank you to everyone who helped host our races. We are one of the last true "volunteer" race crews in the country.
